12/20/2010-The very first part for the wiring of our MAME cabinet arrived today. It is a Mini-Pac form Ultimarc. This TINY device is a U-HID (Universal Human Interface Device) that is auto recognized by Windows! Windows sees it as a keyboard and 2 mice. It provides a header with 32 input wires that you can hook up to joysticks, pushbuttons, coin detectors, player buttons, etc... as well as trackballs and spinners. I bought this here. |
12/24/2010 - Computer parts arrived today! Just in time for the weekend! Motherboard, RAM, Case / Power Supply, Drives - All ordered from NewEgg. |
12/26/2010 - More form Ultimarc! Spinner and Trackball. |
12/30/2010 - The Motherload!!! Suzo-Happ Order Arrives... 2 Player Over / Under Coin Door with .25 coin mechs. |
Speakers and Sub (There is nylon pantyhose like material around them that reflected the light funny) |
| Joysticks 4-Way and 8-Way |
TONS of switches! |
Vent handles, fan shields, leg levelers... |
HUGE 27" Arcade Monitor - eBay (The scan line is not visible - Only through a camera...) |
The boys helped me drill the holes in a project box last night. This will be mounted behind the coin door and will act as a remote for the PC and a "Free Play" On / Off switch. |

The latest design - While looking at the motherboard to see if there was a common ground I could use to save on wires, I noticed that there was a connector for a wireless activity LED sooooo - I added another LED! Luckily each project box comes with 2 covers - 1 metal and 1 plastic. |
The spaghetti mess :) |
Coin door all wired up with the project box and volume control mounted. |
Subwoofer with the light ring controller box and monitor remote attached. The light ring controller box has a microphone and a sensitivity adjustment so you can have the light rings blink to the beat if you want... |
